If you've gone through all my reviews you must have understood by now that I am a Narayan fan cause I feel all his books are mind boggling.
I didn't have a similar experience with this one as I felt it to be boring at many points. Personification is the main device used in this book to please it's readers where a tiger narrates it's life story with interventions of paragraphs told by the author himself. The main character of the book is Raja, a tiger with other important characters like Captain and 'Raja's master' whose name I do not know.
The story has a nice flow but it's pace is very slow according to me.The events revolve around Raja's conversion from a wild beast to a circus' baffoon and then to a beautiful soul who understands the life problems of humans and has just the body of a tiger and nothing else similar to the ferocious wild tiger. Words in usage are appreciable and the easy language tries to grip it's readers.
The passages are long and the book isn't divided into chapters which dawned a feeling of disappointment in me.
However, don't go by me, instead create your own opinion about the book after reading it!
