A pleasing book for the people who are already the fans of the writings of R.K Narayan and O Henry. Though this gripping book with collections of various stories, travelogues and sketches is not the work of the renowned authors mentioned above, still, according to me the work carries a slight influence of these people's writings. R.K Laxman is the youngest sibling of famous writer, R.K Narayan and possesses the same versatile and lively style of writing just like his elder brother. The writings accompany with humongous amount of entertainment and the lively hand drawn cartoons in the book also contribute towards the enormous joy of going past the breath taking passages.
The stories are felt very awe-inspiring by me as they not only convey simplicity but also the talent of the writer to give a sudden blow at the end. Every story has a punch of humour in it.
Next I admired the travelogues which were so explanatory and illuminative that they made me feel that I myself was site seeing with the writer.
The sketches also contented me.
Do read the 160 paged illustrated book for a refreshing and enthralling experience and also to learn the art of using one's wit in their writing.
