<div dir="ltr" style="text-align: left;" trbidi="on">Perhaps this was the thickest book I ever read. It combined two novels written by Jules Verne: 'From the earth to the moon' and 'Around the moon'.<br />What was striking about this set was the very idea on which the story is built up. It is astounding for a person to have imagined of the very idea of human travelling into space a century before it was actually made possible. Though some of the descriptions and facts were vague, the author managed to cover them up with his grip on classic language and talent to draw away the reader's focus from the weak spots. If I were to recommend you, I would say, go for the abridged version, it'll prove to be a little less boring and prolonged. Though I love the story, the second novel managed to bore me so well that I almost quit reading it for a while. Never mind, the first novel had some fine writing involved. Also, the pages accompany black and white illustrations which will let your imagination run wild. The characters were some of the characters whose characteristics have sunk deep in my mind. I just adore president Barbicane's personality, Michael Arden seems to be a little too whimsical, however, Nicholl manages to impress the readers quite well though initially he appears to be the villain. Could you imagine a manned projectile bombarded from a monstrous columbiad actually reach the moon? Well, will the residents of the projectile really survive? Will they be in a condition to share heir respective experiences in space? Find out more ( read the book). <div dir="ltr" style="text-align: left;" trbidi="on">At first I felt that the pace of this awe-inspiring book was too slow and that it started to bore me, but after the actual journey to the centre of the earth started I could not judge the pace of the writing as I increased my own reading pace to a good extent due to the growing curiosity,axiety and excitement in me. Day and night I spent all my available time in reading the passages of the book.So, to conclude from this I could say that this science fiction novel was very gripping due to the author's vast imagination which almost touched the impossible but still compelled the reader to believe it. That is what I think I love the most about this novel.<br />Coming to the story, Professor Otto Lindenbrock, the most unpredictable person ever with a very impatient nature candied with a lot of will power and an enormous store of knowledge, with his nephew, Axel come across a book which has no value to the normal public but is of great value to the professor. Why? (Because he was the most unusual man and...) The book had a note from it's ex-owner (I actually don't know how many ex's), Arne Saknussemm which had the key to the passage from where one could plunge into the earth to have a good look at the bowels of the earth. Soon they start their expedition inspite of a lot of resistance from Axel. The fascinating science fiction or adventurous or mystery or drama (or whatever you feel appropriate) book has an unbelievably thrilling and exciting story with lots of unexpected events in it. The book starts off with a strange news that shakes the world (obviously the author's world, I mean imaginary), a steamship holed by a dreadful sea monster, the captain of which speaks of ghostly light. Does'nt that seem to sound like a phantom story? Well, to me, Yes. So, few men including Professor Arronax and his assistant, Terray; Ned, the prince of harpooners; Captain Farragut sailing, the<i> Abraham Lincoln </i>(a ship) set off for the hunt of the demon in the sea, who gave the story it's beginning. Then there is a shocking entrance of the beast and the professor falls into the rough sea due to the heavy strokes of the monster on the ship and drifts away from the water vessel. Alas! he is lost......oh no, the others also appear....what a relief! What comes next is the actual surprise of the story-  the so called monster is a huge submarin with Captain Nemo as the leader in it. The upcoming adventures are stupendous, so experience them yourself.</div>

Around the world in 80 days

<div dir="ltr" style="text-align: left;" trbidi="on">This book by Jules Verne is incredible with it's gripping story, thrilling language and loads of adventure. The famous classic is very informative too due to it's detailed description about the places Mr. Phileas Fogg visited in order to  win the challenge cum bet he had given to his companions that he could travel all round the world in just 80 days.......Oh! Am I revealing too much? Ok..Let me tell you a bit more. <br /><br /><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"></div>Nobody knew what Mr. Fogg did ,cause he spoke very little of himself, but everyone was familiar with one thing of his i.e. his commitment.  After starting off, huge difficulties and dangers lay on his way  (well not just troubles but also a few delightful moments .....read to discover) but Mr. Fogg still proceeds with a brave heart, determination and endurance(who would like to lose a twenty thousand pounds and ruin his whole life?:P).The lead(Mr Fogg) uses all means to complete his journey( ship, train, elephant and sledge) .
