Written by Johann David Wyss. This is the second review of the same book on this blog. This novel deals with a family getting lost on an uninhabited island, with enough animals required for basic living. It was the same concept of that of Robinson Crusoe, getting lost on an island. The family spend 10 years there, eventually gathering all the local plants in their own garden, and even building their own house and boats. They capture and tame many types of animals and birds. The novel is really good with many adventures. What I felt was that they were killing too many animals, and there was a lot of violence towards them. This family keep waiting for any Britain ship to arrive, in the urge to go back to their own country, but in the same time, have a lot of fear in their hearts not knowing when they would be attacked by Pirates. The final question is : Will they ever be able to go home to meet humans again? Read this book to find out. I recommend the shortened or retold version of this book as the original one is too descriptive and long.
