Not the first review of this book on this blog but this one differs a lot from the first one.
This book truely did not have any sedative effect on me cause it kept me awake using its thrill and adventure. In other words the book did not bore me and kept me glued to it till I read the last word. Few of the incidents described by Edgar Rice Burroughs in the novel were so unpleasant that I felt puking right away and that is where the author's real talent lies in. His vivid elaborations of the creatures, atmosphere, people, objects and scenarios of a totally new world which is a result of the writer's imagination and innovation is worth reading.
The story is narrated not by the author but by a person named David Innes who with Perry (a professor) gets lost into the world just below the crust in some kind of drilling machine made by the professor. The world below the outer crust which indicates that the earth is hollow is Pellucidar with primitive earth animals and the Mahars ruling over it.
To understand my descriptions better you need to read the amazing fantasy novel.
David does not have any track of time in this unknown land as the sun is always at its peak, but manages to teach the humans of Pellucidar that they are superior to the Mahars and also wages a battle against the rulers with Perry, Dian, Dian's brother, Ghak and other friends. The story is left unfinished for its readers to imagine the rest.
To taste the wonderful work, go through this stupendous and spectacular science fiction story.
