I truely adore this book for its descriptive way of narration that is done by my favourite character in the book- Dr. Watson (he is my favourite because he always gets the chance to stay and experience the events going on with SHERLOCK HOLMES...!). Few of the stories in the book are The Cardboard Box, The Crooked man, The Gloria Scott, The Yellow Face ( I feel it was the best), and the saddest of all, The Final Problem. In the last book, Greg parts with his best friend Rowley, and feels very jealous of seeing him with another playmate. The author, Jeff Kinney, after a lot of thinking decides that the character 'Greg' should grow up. He was very happy with maid Isabella, until he discovered that she was very lazy, even lazier than him. I did not even feel to review this book as it contained nothing adventurous, funny, or something else. The fascinating science fiction or adventurous or mystery or drama (or whatever you feel appropriate) book has an unbelievably thrilling and exciting story with lots of unexpected events in it. The book starts off with a strange news that shakes the world (obviously the author's world, I mean imaginary), a steamship holed by a dreadful sea monster, the captain of which speaks of ghostly light. Does'nt that seem to sound like a phantom story? Well, to me, Yes. So, few men including Professor Arronax and his assistant, Terray; Ned, the prince of harpooners; Captain Farragut sailing, the<i> Abraham Lincoln </i>(a ship) set off for the hunt of the demon in the sea, who gave the story it's beginning. Then there is a shocking entrance of the beast and the professor falls into the rough sea due to the heavy strokes of the monster on the ship and drifts away from the water vessel. Alas! he is lost......oh no, the others also appear....what a relief! What comes next is the actual surprise of the story-  the so called monster is a huge submarin with Captain Nemo as the leader in it. The upcoming adventures are stupendous, so experience them yourself.</div>

It deals with a dog that is not liked by anyone in the Heffley family. When Greg's father was small, he used to have a dog, which got lost into a butterfly farm. Later Greg's grandpa reveals the bitter truth to his father, that the dog what accidently stomped by grandpa's car. He made a story of it getting lost so that Greg's father won't feel sad. But as grandpa expected, his dad did not take it as a joke, instead, he brought a new dog from the shop. This book is quite different from the others, as it deals with Greg's life in Summer Holiday. His mother starts to make a 'Summer Photo Album', but ends up putting all false stuff in that. You should read to find out more. Also, it contains an exclusive extract from Diary of a Wimpy Kid: The Ugly Truth. Diary of a Wimpy Kid - The Last Straw

<div dir="ltr" style="text-align: left;" trbidi="on">This is the third book, where greg's dad insists he should become strong and almost sends him to military academy. His dad thinks he is too big to be 'wimpy' (weak), and now atleast gain some muscles, but all of his and greg's plans fail completely. Greg takes a new year resolution that he will help other people to improve, and so he tries to help everyone a lot, but fails in this as usual. His family's resolutions last only for a very short period. His life is filled with troubles every now and then, and everything he does fails. Great Expectations - Abridged

Great expectations is an awesome book including three parts- The years before the great expectations, Life in London with great expectations and The years after the loss of great expectations and the author's favourite child character, Pip. <br />Pip's family name was Philip Pirrip which he could not spell and so decided to name himself with a simpler name, Pip. Poor Pip was an orphan who also lost  his six siblings at a very young age. As one day Pip was playing in his favourite place, the graveyard, a serious, frightful and overwhelming man bypassed his way. Let me address Pip as 'he' from now. He lived with his sister who was twenty years older than he and her husband, the blacksmith.<br />Then, in the story, came another fearful encounter with a frightful man but not the one I had mentioned earlier. The two convicts fought and were caught by the policemen. I wrote about this event as I feel it plays a very important role in the following story which I won't reveal. There is nothing to particularly highlight in this book, as it only contains adventures of a Middle school kid. I noticed that it was very much different from the first book, and has a more interesting story. Greg Heffley has many secrets which would be 'hazardous' if leaked. But when his brother Rodrick uncovers them, the unthinkable happens. As Greg thought, the secret did not spoil his friendship, because it was completely retold as it spread, but made him a 'Hero'. However, due to this, he lost some of his friends. You can read this book if you are not very much used to Huge novels, and still a beginner. If you like books with real story in them, I don't recommend this to you. Written by Jeff Kinney.</div>

Maybe, readers including me are/were a little upsetted by the complicated and old language of the book but surely it does it's work secretly that is to improve your language or literature. David was sent away as a child labour in a factory. Unable to cope up with his work, David runs away to his aunt who educates him. In the mind-boggling story he meets many good friends, Traddles, Mr. Micawber and there is good old Peggotty, Mr. Wickfield, lovely Dora (David's lifepartner who dies) and for the highlight of the sweet ending Agnes. What are you waiting for? Borrow or buy the book and read it right away!</div>

The Cover Page had a name "David Copperfield", which was also boring. But one day, I decided to read it, and after reading, I realized what a wonderful novel it was. His aunt has left his mother when he was born, never to meet again as a boy was born. This young boy, David Copperfield loses his father before he was born, and later loses his mother. A person who re-marries her mother , treats him mercilessly. He is then sent to a factory to work, and when he couldn't work any more there, he escapes, writing a letter to Pegotty (who was his housekeeper) to send him some money to go to his aunt. He receives his money, but gets robbed very soon. He then goes to his aunt, walking all the way to Dover. She then adopts him, renaming him 'trot'. He starts out to become a lawyer, after 17, but couldn't continue as his aunt has run out of money.<br />I would not like to reveal the whole story here, so you read to find out what happens next!</div>

Also I felt that the language and story grew more matured and enchanting as Helen grew up ( in the book). A person reading the book is surely to get deeply moved when he/she comes to know how the unforgettable lady overcame her disabilities, her affection towards all the people who loved her and gifted to her the feeling of warmth and sympathy, Miss Anne Sullivan being the foremost (her devoted teacher).<br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"></div>I was amazed to read how focussed the remarkable 20th century woman was towards achieving her goal  to be able to talk, inspite of her being blind and deaf, and to do all other things that a normal human could do. She also graduated herself. Her positivity impressed me.<br />The deeply moving memoir  portrays one of the best persons the world has ever seen and maybe will ever see.<br /><br />                                             </div>

Robinson Crusoe - Retold

<div dir="ltr" style="text-align: left;" trbidi="on">Written by Daniel Defoe, Retold and Illustrated by Aakriti Features, I felt that this retold version was too short, for it only had 200 pages, and 100 of them completely illustrated. However, a lot of adventures were covered in these little number of pages. The story is about Robinson Crusoe, who always wanted to go into the sea, but was stopped by his parents. It so happened that when he was 18 years, he ignored his parents and went out to the sea, and became a puppet in Pirates hands. He escapes from the pirates somehow but lived happily only for a short period of time. He then goes to sea again, but gets lost in a deserted island as the only survivor of the Shipwreck. He lives many years writing his diary, rearing goats and growing crops. After 20 years, he discovers cannibals on the island. Many adventures go on until he scares away the cannibals out of the place. He returns to his home in England on 19th December 1686, after 35 years. <div dir="ltr" style="text-align: left;" trbidi="on">If you are reading this, you might have already known or should know that there is another review of the same book on this blog. Heidi, by Johanna Spyri is a really wonderful novel and I give it a score of 9 out of 10. A little girl, Adelheid, was lovingly called by all as Heidi and she had no idea of behaving properly before public, until she was forced to learn. She is an orphan who lives with her grandfather, who was very rude and  left behind by the whole of his village in a green meadow with lots of goats and Peter. But her grandpa loved her very much, that he never used to ignore her at any cost. She then goes to another family away from him to a busy town but goes back no sooner. She spends her life with Clara, a paralyzed person; Peter, the shepherd boy; Grandma and Grand mamma(you will know who are they after reading); and many others. She was never disliked by anybody and if someone did, they liked her at last. She was also the reason for the villagers to return to her grandfather again.This book triggered my feelings so much that I never experienced such a lot of emotion even while watching the most emotional movies.
